Reconciling Meta events with CRM stages

Platform pixels and CRM opportunities speak different dialects. Here is the reconciliation checklist we use before drawing contribution charts.

Reconciling Meta events with CRM stages

Meta may report a “Purchase” or “Lead” that your CRM still calls MQL — or never received. Drawing charts from either system alone invites theatre.

Checklist

  • Align timezones and attribution windows before comparing totals.
  • Map each pixel event to a CRM stage or mark it as unmatched.
  • Quantify the unmatched share; put that percentage on the slide.
  • Decide whether offline deals enter the model at all for this quarter.

What we tell clients

A 15% unmatched rate is sometimes honest. Pretending the systems agree when they do not is how budgets chase ghosts. Our audits treat reconciliation as a first-class deliverable, not a footnote.
