Client Stories
Evidence from financial audits of payment gateway applications — what teams asked us to verify and what changed afterward.
Voices from recent work
“They walked our settlement file line by line against our ERP. The fee mapping table alone explained a three-month variance we had been chasing.”
— Finance controller, regional e-commerce merchant · Gateway Financial Audit
“Useful for go-live, though I wish we had booked them two weeks earlier — a few UAT files were still unstable when fieldwork started.”
— Head of payments operations, Bangkok marketplace · Pre–Go-Live Control Check
“The reconciliation memo gave our auditors something concrete. They did not rubber-stamp our process; two breaks were uncomfortable to read and that was the point.”
— CFO, travel services company · Settlement Reconciliation Review
“Fee reports finally matched how we book MDR and FX. Our processor still argues about one blended rate, but at least we know which field to challenge.”
— Group accountant, specialty retail chain · Fee & Ledger Assessment
Extended story: Marketplace split payments
A Bangkok marketplace prepared to move high-volume sellers onto a new split-payment path inside its gateway application. Finance could see authorizations in the gateway console but month-end seller payable balances regularly drifted from bank settlement.
API Schema Hub ran a Gateway Financial Audit over two settlement cycles. Sampling showed that partial captures and delayed seller releases were posting to a suspense account that nobody owned in the reconciliation checklist. The report assigned the suspense clear-down to treasury, added a daily control for failed split batches, and documented how reserve holds should appear in seller statements.
Thirty days after remediation, the finance team reported that seller payable breaks fell to items they could explain within the same close — mostly late refunds — rather than unexplained suspense growth.
Extended story: Processor fee waterfall
A mid-size merchant renegotiating MDR asked for a Fee & Ledger Assessment before signing. We rebuilt fee deductions for a 1,200-transaction sample across card and a local method. The assessment showed FX markup applying on a subset of “THB” settlements that had actually cleared in USD overnight. The merchant used the working paper in commercial talks; we were not party to the negotiation itself.
